06:30 PM The JOY of Patiently Waiting – Online Workshop
The JOY of Patiently Waiting – Online Workshop
Description: “Those things you learn without JOY you will forget easily” – Finnish Saying. I have held so many little, unmotivated hands in my life; impatiently forcing them to write. I’ve used meaningless rote teaching methods just to hurry up and check the boxes that a child “knows” their numbers and letters way before they had a need for them. My eyes have since been opened to the error in my ways. I now fully understand when adults are patient, and give children time to develop what must come first, the task of reading and writing is full of JOY. This workshop is all about identifying the “BEFORE” skills along with simple, open-ended material ideas that create opportunities for children to develop all that MUST be developed BEFORE writing, reading and using number knowledge. Patiently focusing on what is truly important NOW leads to joyful success later. SUITABLE FOR ALL EARLY LEARNING AND CHILD CARE PROFESSIONALS Presenter: Denita Dinger NOTES: – This workshop will be held online through the Zoom platform. – You will need access to a smartphone, laptop, tablet or computer with a camera and audio capabilities to join us. – A link will be emailed to you in the days prior to the workshop.. Join us as we learn through play, focusing on early literacy experiences, strengthening parenting skills, and promoting family and community engagement. We provide a child-friendly learning environment that stimulates brain development. Children then learn to socialize, and acquire skills that help prepare them for life. Parents are encouraged to observe and participate in activities that assist early learning, and discover new ways to support their children’s learning at home.
