Family Support Institute

The Family Support Institute of BC (FSI) is a provincial not-for-profit society committed to supporting families who have a family member with a disability (diagnosed or not) through a volunteer peer model. FSI is unique in Canada and the only grassroots family-to-family organization with a broad volunteer base. Our peer mentoring model connects family to each other and shares their lived experiences and provides social, emotional supports along with resources and education. All of FSI's supports and services are free to any family.

We provide emotional support, information, resources, and help in navigating services for parents & caregivers of a child, youth or young adult with a mental health and/or substance use challenge. We know how important you are, and that you might need some support now too. We are also parents of kids with mental health and/or substance use challenges. We are here for you and want to help. We help children and young people by helping their family and other caring adults. Your family matters to us-we know children and young people do better when the adults who care about them are supported. OUR SERVICES ARE FREE. NO WAITLIST. WE GET IT.
