Welcome to children ages 6-18. The primary objective of the camp is to offer group counselling in a safe, supportive environment. The participants can share their experiences, identify and talk about their feelings, improve their self-esteem, enhance communication and conflict resolution skills and emotional regulation. The CYEC is facilitated by trained and experienced counsellors from the following programs: Stopping the Violence, Children Who Witness Abuse (PEACE), Child & Youth Mental Health, Substance Use counselling, and Family Counselling. DIVERSEcity runs two camps over Spring Break and two camps in the summer. Please watch our website at www.dcrs.ca for dates. The Delta and Surrey Police and Fire Departments have partnered with DIVERSEcity and they help educate the participants to enhance their understanding about the impact of abuse, street violence, and bullying at schools. Did you know that babies begin to recognize voices even before they are born? That means it is never too early to start reading to your baby. This group is very organic; it can be whatever you need it to be. If there is anything you would like to talk about or read up on, we can research it in the library. Join us and make this group your own! (We meet once a month, see the library website for more details)
Come and play in the park with songs, stories, activities, games and a healthy snack.
Two locations of the Adventure Playgrounds - North & South Delta. A place where your child can use their imagination, build creations, and have lots of unstructured play.
