The concept of tinkering is gaining momentum as a driver of creativity and innovation. The tinkering process is about creating ideas and making them through trial and error. Tinkering aligns with how children engage with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts and practices. When children engage in tinkering, they are blending tools of science with aesthetics and self-expression. This session will explore how children construct knowledge and express creativity in their play environments. Ideas for promoting tinkering and stem concepts in an array of curriculum areas will be presented. SUITABLE FOR ALL EARLY LEARNING AND CHILD CARE PROFESSIONALS Presenter: Dr. Beverlie Dietze
