Creating a Healthy Social-Emotional Environment in an Early Childhood Program – In Person Workshop

In this workshop, we’ll discuss the causes of mental stress for children and early childhood educators. We’ll learn about self-regulation, reflective behaviour, and relationship building. We will explore a strength-based approach that focuses on what we can do vs. stigmatizing children and adults who are struggling. We will also discuss the underlying factors that affect children’s emotional health and how to heal using bibliotherapy. We will talk about creating a child-centred curriculum and environment to manage these issues. We will also discuss self-care for educators and how to prevent burn-out and learn about important resources to continue learning about mental health. Presenter: Pooja Kalsi There will be a 30 minute lunch break, please bring a bagged lunch. SUITABLE FOR ALL EARLY LEARNING AND CHILD CARE PROFESSIONALS
