Play Matters: The Importance of Play for Learning and Well-Being – In-Person Community of Practice

All sessions are in-person: 3 Mondays, April 3, May 1 & 29 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm and 2 Saturdays, April 15, June 24 from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm Let’s Play – Every Day and Everywhere Do you believe in the power of play? Are you seeking experiential learning through play? Join us to experience a variety of ways to play. Together we will engage in collaborative dialogue, discussion, and critical reflection on our current practices. All with the hopes of finding deeper meaning in our work. Play is crucial in the lives of children and also our lives as adults. Spend time with us exploring the power of play through many different mediums like storytelling walks, being outdoors, utilizing loose parts, messy play, and more! This Community of Practice is for anyone working with children who is looking for new ways to inspire learning and create a community within early childhood education.! Presenters: Tamara Jacobs, Training Assistant and Tennille Baboth, Community Connector Cost: $40.00 includes: · Light meal at each session · 3 books – the BC Early Learning Framework, Play Today and Let’s Play · ECEBC Code of Ethics · 17.5 hours of professional development Please note a certificate of attendance will be issued at the last class for full attendance (17.5 hours)
