Nature as the Third Teacher – In Person Workshop

Early Learning refers to the environment as the third teacher and this workshop will explore how natural outdoor spaces invite children to learn more about themselves and the world around them. Participants are invited to dialogue and explore how nature supports cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual development in young children. However, nature can also be a companion and friend and participants can playfully consider what this might look like for themselves and the children in their care. Participants will receive a handout with ideas for open-ended play in nature. Presenter: Melanie Van Eyk Suitable for all early learning and child care professionals.
