Services Offered:
  1. North Delta Family Resource Centre – The centre is designed to encourage children to learn through play, focus on early literacy experiences, strengthen parenting skills, and promote family and community engagement. It provides a child-friendly, learning environment which stimulates the brain development in young children and which helps them learn to socialize and acquire skills that help prepare them for life. Parents can observe and participate in activities that assist early learning and discover new ways to support their children’s learning at home.  Programs offered are: Family Drop in, Family Empowerment Support Group, Baby Sign and Mother Goose.
  2. Ladner  Family Resource Centre (HUB) – The centre is designed to encourage children to learn through play, focus on early literacy experiences, strengthen parenting skills, and promote family and community engagement. It provides a child-friendly, learning environment which stimulates the brain development in young children and which helps them learn to socialize and acquire skills that help prepare them for life. Parents can observe and participate in activities that assist early learning and discover new ways to support their children’s learning at home.  Programs offered are: Family Drop in, Parent Education sessions, Baby Sign and Mother Goose.
  3. Parent-Child Mother Goose – Parent-Child Mother Goose introduces parents/caregivers to the pleasure and power of using songs, rhymes, and stories with their babies and young children. Parents gain skill and confidence which enables them, in turn, to create positive family patterns during the children’s’ crucial years and give their children healthy early experiences with language and communication.
  4. Parent Child Learning Together – Parent Child Learning Together (PCLT) are facilitated parent groups for Delta families with children aged 3-5. This DeltaKids program is run by the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC. Sessions are led by staff from the BGC and community partners.  Groups are held in different community locations 3 times a year in spring, fall, and winter.   5. Parent Connect – Parent Connect provides support, advocacy, and parenting information to families with children ages 0 to 6 in Delta. Families are visited in their home with services being individualized, family-centered, and strength-based. The target populations are families who may be isolated, lack community and/or family connections, and need information on parenting, healthy child development, and school-readiness.
